Crystal Lake Park District Hosts Unplug After Dark Event This Weekend
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Communities across Illinois will be hosting "unplug" events this coming weekend where residents of all ages will be encouraged to turn off their phones and enjoy some technology-free time out and about.
In celebration of Unplug Illinois Day, the Crystal Lake Park District is hosting an event from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Veteran Acres, 431 N. Walkup in Crystal Lake. All ages are welcome to stop by this free event, according to the Crystal Lake Park District website.
The event will include a flashlight scavenger hunt with fun station along the way, which include a galaxy craft, campfires and music, fun bugs to collect, a nature center exploration and a late night treat.
Be sure to bring your flashlight and collect your scavenger hunt kit at the nature center or rotary building. Park district officials are encoring residents to check the rainoutline in case of inclement weather or cancellations.
